The durability of the Yonberg comb, cover and reed materials produce some of the longest lasting, most durable harmonicas available.

Ergonomic design

Yonberg harmonicas offer easy and instinctive handling with an innovative hand-fitting shape. Its' rounded edges and curved mouthpiece add to the overall comfort.

Ease of Maintenance

Airflow channels of Yonberg harmonicas are hourglass shaped.  This configuration accelerates the flow of air at the middle of the channels, creating a venturi effect which reduces air leakages along the longitudinal edges of the reeds.

Moreover, the bottom of the profiled channels are arranged as a semi-elliptical chamber designed to optimize the flow of air while limiting harmful turbulences at the free end of the reeds.

These design features make Yonberg harmonica extremely airtight. Additionally, the superb fit and finish of the harmonicas enhances the airtight seal.

Power and Responsiveness

Yonberg harmonicas deliver superb power and responsiveness.

Power: the innovative channel shape optimizes airflow and the conical comb design allows a huge open end for exceptional sound projection.  The comb design also eliminates "reed rattle" on the low end.

Responsiveness: the wide air intakes fitted in the covers and lateraly located outside of the handling areas enable the instrument to freely "breathe" which makes the instrument super responsive, even on the high end.

Durability = Value

The polycarbonate comb and cover of the Yonberg D2 harmonica is virtually indestructible.  Polycarbonate is the same material used to make bulletproof glass and unbreakable eyeglass lenses.  So the covers, even on the open pavilion side, will never bend or become mishapen like conventional metal covers.

The TYPHOON and STORM models also feature stainless steel reeds which last up to 5x longer than conventional brass reeds.

The TYPHOON also features cover plates treated with a PVD process which is second in hardness only to diamonds.  It will not chip, tarnish, or corrode.

The exactness of the fit and finish keeps dirt and mouth grime from entering the reeds and shortening the life of the reeds. If your harmonica does need cleaning, the QDS system makes it quick and easy.

This combination of features makes the Yonberg D2 supremely durable and long-lasting = A Great Value.

Ergonomic Design

The asymmetrical shape of Yonberg harmonicas offer easy and instinctive handling without the risk of taking the wrong end of the harmonica, even in the dark.  Color coded keys and key tab make finding the right key easy.

The index finger fits perfectly into the grooved cover plate, still allowing plenty of room to put the harmonica well into the mouth. Great for tongue blocking and octave playing!

All edges are smoothly rounded and the mouthpiece is slightly curved for additional comfort on the corners of the mouth.  The left side of the harmonica has two notches which keeps the harmonica from sliding when holding between the thumb and index finger.  The polycarbonate mouthpiece slides smoothly and easily when playing.

Ease of Maintenance

QDS : Quick Dismantling System

The QDS concept is based on the use of very rigid covers connected by three screws passing through the entire instrument which firmly clamps together the comb and the two reedplates.

The four support legs press the reed plates against the corresponding faces of the comb which ensures perfect airtightness between all the elements.

By cantilever effect the rigid covers provide total airtightness in the central area of the mouthpiece .

To completely disassemble the instrument simply unscrew the three "big" M3 screws for direct access to reeds for maintenance and adjustment.

Reassembly in reverse direction is just as fast and easy as dismantling.
